A Chinese vase of square form enameled with a group of cranes among clouds, handles formed as a pair of elephants heads.
Signed ‘Sheng de Tang Zhi’.
Sheng de Tang is the “Hall of Prudent Virtue”, porcelain items made for this hall are marked Sheng de Tang Zhi, the main residence of the Daoguang Emperor.
The vase may be Daoguang, but mark was also used in the early Republic period.
